The Aspen Institute Socrates Program and the Menzies Leadership Foundation launched a global dialogue series around the question: What must remain human? The first convening, held at the Aspen Institute's New York office on 9 July 2026, brought together twenty leaders from different sectors, professions and life experiences to reflect on AI, what it means to be human and the implications for leadership. ANN, a custom-built large language model developed by researchers at the ANU School of Cybernetics, participated in the conversation.
