Adaptive Lighting – using computational abilities of our ‘smart’ streetlights and algorithms to dynamically control a streetlight’s output and behaviour. First test as done on Athlon Drive and consisted of ~100 streetlights. This trial resulted in a5% reduction in energy consumption and ~7.83t reduction in carbon emissions.
ACT Government then approved a second trial over a larger geographical boundary –Canberra.
I developed an interdisciplinary workshop to design a plan for future trials.
