Description
The Academy works with diverse stakeholders from the education and training sectors, government and non-government sector and the community. The legislated objectives of the Academy are:
• to improve outcomes for school students through the provision of specialised teaching and leadership excellence programs for exceptional teachers and school leaders
• to increase equity of access to professional learning to lift the quality of teaching across Victoria
• to provide a dedicated pathway for established exceptional teachers to contribute to school and system improvement
• to improve the quality of school leadership
• to raise public awareness of the capability and status of school leaders and teachers in the science and practice of teaching.
Kerry has been appointed as a Director of the Board. The Board report to the Minister of Education in Victoria and are a statutory authority overseeing the work of the Academy. The primary role of the Board is to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Academy; and to be accountable to the Minister for the discharge of the Academy’s statutory functions and its education and financial performance.
