Organiser - RIA Data Management Workshop series — national capability development programme

Activity: Hosting or Participating in Events › Contribution to workshop, seminar, course

Description

A national programme of one-day data management workshops for university Research Integrity Advisors, run as a four-way partnership between ANDS, ARMS, the ARC and the NHMRC with a different university hosting each instance. Paul conceived and led the programme: he negotiated the agency partnership, recruited and briefed the host universities, designed the curriculum, presented at each workshop and ran the evaluation. Seven deliveries are evidenced: a pilot at the University of Melbourne in September 2016, then Brisbane, Adelaide, Hobart, Sydney/UNSW and Melbourne/RMIT in 2017 and Sydney/UTS in 2018 — see the corresponding rows on Speaking_Presenting. Aggregate reach recorded in the series correspondence: 101 participants, with 90% of 63 survey respondents saying they would recommend the workshop. Outcomes were written up and presented at ARMS 2017 as “RIA Data Management Workshops: Lessons Learned in Building a National Capability Development Activity”, and the design was presented internationally at INORMS 2016 before the first delivery. Two further instances (Canberra and Perth) were canvassed but did not proceed — see Not_Confirmed.
