Description

The School of Cybernetics has been running the Learning and Teaching Day twice a year to provide opportunities for teaching staff to share and develop our collective and individual pedagogical frameworks. We ran sessions on various topics as follows:

- "Navigating Change: Towards a New Social Ecology" run by Matthew Holt to explore adaptive and maladaptive responses to environmental types.

- "Exploring AI, automation and human in the loop: How do humans and machines co-exist in complex decision-making?" run by Maia Gould and Eddie Aloise King to explore the distinction between AI and automation, define core concepts of human-in-the-loop, AI blindness and accountability, and put them into action by exploring an example workflow involving humans and machines.

- "Education and AI" session run by Sungyeon Hong to facilitate discussion around responsible academic use of AI from perspectives of both students and academics.
