Biography

Amy Bastine received her Ph.D. in Engineering from the Australian National University (ANU), Canberra, Australia, in 2025, under the supervision of Professor Thushara Abhayapala. She is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Audio and Acoustic Signal Processing Group at ANU. Her research interests include spatial audio and room acoustics, with an emphasis on developing practical methods for immersive audio capture and rendering. During her doctoral research, she collaborated with researchers at Meta Reality Labs for two years on binaural sound-field translation using microphone-embedded head-wearable devices. She also undertook a research visit to the Image and Sound Processing Lab at Politecnico di Milano, Italy, contributing to joint research on acoustic imaging.
