Andrew Wood is Professor of Statistics. He has broad research interests within statistics, including: non-Euclidean statistics, especially directional statistics and statistical shape analysis and object oriented data analysis; theoretical statistics, including asymptotic theory and methods; computational methods; and applications of statistics, especially in the sciences and medicine. Andrew's research has been supported by a number of grants, with significant funding from the UK research councils, the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, and the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council; he is also the lead CI on a current Australian Research Council Discovery Project. He has published frequently in the leading international statistical journals including Journal of the American Statistical Association, Biometrika and Annals of Statistics. Andrew is a former Joint Editor of Journal of the Royal Statistical Society, Series B and is a current Associate Editor of Biometrika.
