Personal profile

Biography

I am an interdisciplinary researcher and practitioner, working on the interface science-policy-practice and environmental governance. I do this by applying future-oriented approaches, to explore options towards strategic thinking and collective learning to navigate global changes, while considering the linkages between local communities, private and public sector initiatives to find options towards sustainable futures.

I have been involved in climate change adaptation, transformative change, environmental governance, and sustainable development projects in Latin America, Australia, and South Africa, with a variety of institutions and interdisciplinary projects. This experience has provided me with a broad perspective to understand the applicability of global trends at the local level and identifying entry points and transitions to dynamic environmental management under climate change.

I have experience in qualitative research methods and conceptual frameworks for environmental governance and adaptation in natural resources management, agroindustry, and tourism. My research addresses analysis of socio-ecological systems under uncertain and contested conditions looking at how to improve decisions and co-produce solutions considering social realities and contexts.
