Biography
Creina Day is an Associate Professor of Economics at Crawford School of Public Policy and Director of the Growth, Demographics and Productivity research program at the Centre for Applied Macroeconomic Analyis (CAMA). Contributions include fields of endogenous growth theory, gender wage gaps, childcare and fertility, house price determination, optimal fossil fuel extraction, macroeconomic policy, population ageing and pensions, political economy and income inequality. Seminal papers published in leading international journals including Berkeley Electronic Journal of Macroeconomics, Oxford Economic Papers, Review of Income and Wealth. JG Crawford Award for the best piece of original research on Japan and Top 10 downloaded papers of the Economic Record Special Issues. Creina Day is noted for proposing the fertility J-curve in 2004 which would first be confirmed empirically in 2009.
