Georgie has a broad professional background that includes military experience and employment in the fields of international relations, data analytics, and communications technology and infrastructure.
She began her career as a Maritime Warfare Officer in the Royal Australian Navy, with much of her work in border protection operations and other maritime operations. While in Navy, she completed a Bachelor of Science at the Australian Defence Force Academy, majoring in physics and mathematics, and receiving academic awards in mathematics, chemistry, and physics as well as various military training awards.

She completed her Masters in International Relations through ANU (2019-21) and is nearing submission of her PhD through the University of Tasmania (2022-26). Her PhD thesis is explores the dynamics of online information access, transparency, and order in international Antarctic affairs. Her ongoing research interests include dual use technology, polar security, and institutional transparency.
Georgie is currently employed as the Research Associate for the Hassett Chair of Military Studies, an ANU role at the Australian Defence College in Weston Creek. She is also a semi-professional triathlete and has a giant Dalmatian named Harry Spotter.
