- July 2025 – The Guitar in Popular Music conference (Academy of Contemporary Music, London and Canterbury Christchurch University). Paper presentation – The Art of Being Irrational in a Reasonable Way
- 2023 – the Australasian Jazz and Improvisation Research Network (AJIRN) conference in Melbourne. Paper presentation – Form One Lane: Merging Guitar Practice with Drum-set Methodologies

Selected Performance Experience
- 2024 – debut performance of my original music arranged for the Test Pilots Big Band. A recording project is underway
- 2025 – two additional recording projects completed and currently in post-production. Scheduled for release early 2025. Featuring Andrew Gander, John Mackey, William Barton and other notable Australian performers.
- Curator of the National Press Club (NPC) Friday Night Jazz series (2014-present). Collaborating in regular performance with a curated roster of the best local and interstate jazz talent.
- Canberra Symphony Orchestra – guitar chair for Gala and Pops Orchestra events
- Member of the ANU jazz and contemporary faculty
- Mamma Mia – principal guitar for the Canberra season of Australian touring production.
- ABC documentary podcast (2018) – Musical performances for an ABC documentary on Frank Sinatra’s ill-fated visit to Australia
- Recording and touring with Hetty Kate & Dan McLean (2016). Guitarist on The Umbrella Man Album and toured the east coast of Australia performing many sold-out shows, including the Foundry 616 jazz club in Sydney.
- Canberra Guitar Showcase (Aug 2015) - I organised and presented a concert at the Ainslie Arts Centre featuring Canberra-based classical and Jazz guitarists. As part of the concert I also performed new works, some of which will be featured on my upcoming album.
- “The Competition” movie premiere (Dec 2014) - A movie, directed by Simon Weaving, for which I was musical director, and which also featured 3 of my original songs as well as my score.
- “Locks of Love” (2014) - Contributed musical cue to the score for the feature film Locks of Love.
- “Aodaliya Gold” movie trailer score (2014)- I composed the score for Cindy Li’s trailer for an upcoming movie about Australia’s only Chinese bushranger by JIA films

- I have played guitar in professional pit orchestras for a number of shows including West Side Story, Jesus Christ Superstar, Joseph and His Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, Sweet Charity and Cats.
- My involvement in the music industry also includes work as a professional jazz and contemporary guitarist (both as a bandleader and freelance musician), arranger, composer for television commercials, working with big bands and theatre orchestras, guitar ensemble performances and working with Latin American and flamenco musicians.
Recording, mixing, producing and live sound work
- Mix engineer for upcoming album by Australian jazz legend Vince Jones.
- Certified Pro Tools Trainer. I have taught official Avid coursework at CIT and taught previous iterations of the recording techniques course at ANU
- Extensive recording experience at HiHat Studios, CIT Studios and the ANU studio (including training on the Neve console).
- 2016 – recorded interviews and archival material for the British Museum (at Hihat studios)
- 2015 - Recording engineer for Hitmill (Germany) for their Canberra-based talent. Hitmill enlisted studios from all around the country for an international release project Hihat studios (where I was the head engineer) won the contract to record the Canberra talent.

- I have a keen interest in woodworking, in particular building classical guitars. I studied this process with Sydney based luthier Gerard Gilet and perform with a number of guitars that I have hand-built. I also have skills in simple equipment repairs, having built some effects pedals and maintained my equipment.
