Personal profile

Biography

Grenville's projects over the years have looked at the relationships between identity and recovery in a mental health setting, stigma surrounding Hepatitis C and injecting drug use, health professional attitudes towards people accessing their services and the workplace experiences of peer workers. Grenville was President of the Hepatitis C Council of NSW (now Hepatitis NSW) for 5 years and served on the board of that organisation for 8 years, and is currently on the board of Being-Mental Health Consumers and The College of Professional Psychology. Other research interests have included learning styles in tertiary educational settings and community pharmacy. His PhD is in sensory science, specifically the development of human food preferences through exposure to tastes. This is a largely applied field and six postdoctoral years were spent working to increase the appeal of the products of multinational food and beverage companies. He is very happy to be now working with the ACT Consumer and Carer Mental Health Research Unit at ANU.
