About

I am a Research Fellow with the Australian Master of Applied Epidemiology (MAE) program at the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health (NCEPH), Australian National University, and a PhD candidate at ANU. My doctoral research focuses on defining and strengthening Australia’s applied epidemiology workforce, including how it can be better measured, supported and prepared for future public health challenges.

My work sits at the intersection of applied epidemiology, workforce policy and training. I am particularly interested in building a resilient, practice-ready workforce through clearer role definitions, stronger training pathways, and better cross-jurisdictional workforce planning.

I have worked for 14 years as an epidemiologist across government, academia and international settings, contributing to outbreak response, surveillance strengthening and immunisation policy. This has included work across Australia and in regional and humanitarian contexts, which continues to shape my applied, systems-focused approach.

At ANU, I teach and supervise in the MAE program and convene Analysis of Public Health Data and Public Health Surveillance. Since 2023, I have supervised MAE projects across outbreak and surveillance-focused work, evaluation-oriented projects, and field-based public health placements. I value practical, supportive supervision that builds student confidence while maintaining strong methodological and ethical standards.

In 2025, I was nominated for the ANU College of Law, Governance and Policy Excellence in Education Award for Excellence in Supervision. I value this as recognition of student-centred supervision and the importance of clear, constructive learning environments in applied epidemiology training.

I also contribute to professional leadership through the Australasian Epidemiological Association (AEA), where I serve on the National Council as Policy and Engagement Officer. In this role, I support professional recognition, policy engagement, and strengthened epidemiology capability across Australia.
