Biography
Dr. Heping Shen is Associate Professor at the Research School of Engineering, Australian National University (ANU), where she leads the perovskite and tandem solar cell team. She completed her PhD in Materials Science and Engineering at Tsinghua University in 2014. Her research interests include solar cells, solar fuels, and energy storage. Her work on solar fuel was selected as one of the top 10 innovations by the Innovation for Cool Earth Forum (ICEF), hosted by the government of Japan in 2020. She has been recognized with the 2024 ANU Future Schemes award.
She has been awarded a total of over AUD 16 million (cash) in grant funding and collaborates extensively with industry and universities both in Australia and overseas.
Shen's research has yielded significant advances in the field of solar energy, resulting in 1 book chapter, 2 patents and >100 published articles in top-tier journals, including Nature, Science, Nature Review Materials, Energy Environmental Science, Advanced Energy Materials, and has received significant attention from the international research community with >7000 citations.
