Biography

I am an early career researcher with experience in archival research to support the repatriation of First Nations objects and Ancestral Remains. My expertise lies in leveraging globally distributed archives to assemble and curate collecting histories.

As a Research Archivist with the Return Reconcile Renew Centre for Repatriation Training, Practice and Research, I have contributed to the following research projects:

  • ‘Collection Ecologies for Repatriation Practice’ (2022-2024) funded by the AIATSIS Return of Cultural Heritage program.
  • Ngurra Business Case consultancy (2021-2022) funded by AIATSIS.
  • Australian Research Council LIEF Project 'Restoring Dignity: Networked knowledge for repatriation communities’ [LE170100017] (2018-2021).
  • Australian Research Council Linkage Project 'Return, Reconcile, Renew: Understanding the history, effects and opportunities of repatriation and building an evidence base for the future' [LP130100131] (2014-2018).

Research Interests

My research interests include:

  • Tracing journeys of Australian Indigenous collections through institutions
  • Provenance sources, methodologies and best-practice
  • Understanding the commercial trade of ethnographic collections during the long nineteenth century
  • Data curation for provenance and repatriation practice
