Originally from Canada, Katie completed her PhD in digital communication and media studies from the University of Wollongong in 2012, investigating fan-made remix videos and media fandom. She worked as a Senior Learning Designer for ANU Online from 2015 - 2019, advising and delivering professional development for academics on technology-enhanced learning.
Katie is now the Technology-Enhanced Learning and Teaching (TELT) Manager for the ANU Medical School, where she leads a team of learning designers and technologists to create online resources, manage education technologies, and provide learning design advice for the School.
Hons BA University of Toronto; PhD University of Wollongong
Katie is a researcher in education technology, higher education and professional learning, and learning design. She also researches fan studies, digital communication, and social media from a cultural studies perspective.
Unfortunately, Katie is not able to offer supervision to any prospective research students at this time.
