Biography

After undertaking a PhD in Molecular Immunology and a Masters in Computer Science, Kris worked as a molecular biologist and bioinformatician in London (UCL) and Canberra (JCSMR and UC). Her project for the Masters in Archaeological and Evolutionary Sciences (ANU), examined the pottery of the Eastern Highlands of Papua New Guinea and she is continuing to study the potteries of the Pacific, and how they are connected, in her PhD.

Research Interests

Kris is investigating the use of databases and open linked data to bring together, and make more available the many different types of information on Pacific ceramic technologies. She also experiments with improving the analysis and visualisation of data from petrography, p-XRF, LA-ICPMS and micro-CT studies on pottery. Kris is interested in creating Virtual Reality websites with simple games/puzzles to communicate archaeological results and concepts.
