Biography

Kristen Sobeck is a Research Fellow at the Tax and Transfer Policy Institute, at the Australian National University. She has published various policy reports on wage and income policies, as well as tax reform.

Prior to joining TTPI, she worked for a decade as an economist at the International Labour Organization (ILO) from its headquarters in Geneva, where she focused on wage and income policies. She also worked at the ILO's country office in Argentina, where her focus was on the informal economy.


Kristen was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship in 2007 and holds a Bachelor's degree in economics and French from Smith College. She also holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Geneva and is undertaking her PhD part-time at the Australian National University. She speaks French, Spanish and English fluently.
