Dr. Zhang is an Associate Professor of Finance with the College of Business and Economics. He teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in corporate finance, as well as PhD research courses in empirical methodology. Dr. Zhang's primary research field is corporate finance, in particular mergers and acquisitions, governance, and issues related to the emerging markets. His work has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals such as Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Financial Intermediation, Financial Management, and Journal of Banking and Finance. He has won many awards for his research, including the Pearson Prize for the Best Paper published in Financial Management.
Before joining ANU, Dr. Zhang had taught at University of New South Wales. He received his PhD in Finance from Nanyang Technological University.
