Biography

A qualified teacher, Mandy worked for many years in the Commonwealth Department of Education and the Schools Commission. She has also been an editor, has taught English to Speakers of Other Languages in Australia and overseas, and tutored and lectured in the areas of English for Academic Purposes, Language Policy, Sociolinguistics, and Multilingual education. She is actively involved in various local organisations to promote the value of languages and language learning.  She was nominated as 2024 ACT Senior of the Year for advocacy activities in the areas of community language learning, bilingualism and multiculturalism.
