Biography
Marvin Wee joined the Research School of Accounting in the ANU College of Business and Economics in June 2017. Prior to this, Marvin was at the University of Western Australia Business School. Marvin completed his PhD at the University of Western Australia in 2006. Between 2007 and 2009, Marvin worked at Bank of Scotland Treasury (Perth Branch) as an Interest Rate and Foreign Exchange Sales Dealer. Marvin returned to academia in 2009 to pursue his research interests.
Marvin has taught courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels based upon his area of expertise. These courses are in the area of research methods in accounting and finance, financial statement analysis, corporate governance, corporate finance, investments and financial market microstructure.
Marvin has published academic papers in international journals and presented at leading international conferences. These papers are on topics such as firm disclosure, investor relations, international financial reporting standards, trading behaviour, financial market microstructure, and information asymmetry within the stock market.
Marvin is Deputy Editor-in-Chief at Accounting and Finance, the association journal of the Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ). Marvin is also currently serving on the AFAANZ board as President (Australia).
