Yangxueqing (Mary) Jiang is a Postdoctoral Fellow in social-cognitive psychology at The Australian National University, where she also completed her research PhD in psychology. As an early career researcher, Mary specializes in applied social-cognitive psychology, with particular expertise in how people process, remember, and come to believe in information. Her research addresses critical real-world applications, examining the cognitive mechanisms underlying information processing in contexts ranging from health communication, food safety, to climate science. 

Mary’s current postdoctoral research investigates the quality of information exchange across different telehealth modalities—work that has significant implications for healthcare delivery and patient outcomes. She has also contributed to an interdisciplinary epidemiology and memory project as a research assistant, developing methods to improve memory accuracy for food consumption reporting in foodborne disease investigations. Mary’s research has gained notable attention particularly in climate change communication, where she demonstrated that repeated exposure can increase acceptance of even climate-skeptic statements. This work attracted significant media interest and highlights her commitment to bridge psychology with critical societal issues such as public health and environmental communication challenges.
