Biography

Matt completed his PhD at ANU in remote sensing of vegetation and fire severity. His Honours thesis investigated bushfire ecology of Australian eucalypts. He has previously worked on projects related to environmental monitoring and natural hazards in the private and public industries. He has collaborated with the local Government to provide information to help inform environmental management strategies, and contributes to the teaching of fire, climate, and GIS courses at the ANU.

Matt's research interests include: fire severity and fuel estimation using remote sensing; vegetation condition assessment; landscape variation in wildfire effects; land management outcomes during wildfire; eucalypt fire ecology.
