Biography
Michael Reyes Cabalfin is a Research Fellow and Lecturer at the School of Regulation and Global Governance (RegNet), College of Asia and the Pacific. He is also an awardee of the University of the Philippines President Edgardo J. Angara Fellowship.
His research interests include the economics of development, education, labor, and migration; impact evaluation, economic growth and macroeconomic analysis.
Prior to joining RegNet, he held various appointments with the academe and government, as an Assistant Professor in economics at the University of the Philippines, an Economist at the Ateneo School of Government, a Research Associate at the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS), and an Economist at the Department of Finance.
He has also consulted for various national and international organizations including PIDS, the Philippine Competition Commission, the World Bank, UNICEF, and the Asian Development Bank.
Michael obtained his PhD in Economics from the Australian National University and his Master in Development Economics, Master of Arts in Social and Development Studies and Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from the University of the Philippines.
