Personal profile

Biography

I am a PhD Candidate at the Humanities Research Centre, Australian National University. My research examines knowledge production and cultural interpretation in museums, with a focus on how ethnological museums collect, research, and represent ethnic heritage. Drawing on ethnographic fieldwork at a major ethnological museum in China, I examine the behind-the-scenes processes through which curators, researchers, and communities negotiate the interpretation of cultural heritage. More broadly, I am interested in museum practice, material culture, and how expertise circulates within and across heritage institutions. I hold an MA in Cultural Heritage and Museology from Fudan University.
