Biography

Hali Aprimadya is a recent PhD graduate from the Crawford School of Public Policy, Australian National University, with a passion for exploring the dynamic interplay between policy, politics, and knowledge production.

His doctoral research explores the diverse meanings and interpretations of research—an essential yet often overlooked academic responsibility within Indonesia's higher education system. By examining these complexities, his thesis offers an innovative perspective on policy implementation, framing it as a series of expressive acts rather than purely structured endeavours.

As an emerging policy scholar, Hali has begun building a strong academic track record. He has published a journal article and a book review with Critical Policy Studies, with two book chapters forthcoming and a journal article currently under review.

In his role as an educator, Hali has tutored postgraduate courses at the Crawford School of Public Policy, including The Institutional and Political Architecture of Public Policy, Foundations in Public Policy, and Policy Research. His teaching is enhanced by a commitment to mentorship, fostering intellectual curiosity and academic growth among his students.

Hali is actively seeking collaborations in research, teaching, and projects that explore the nexus of policy, politics, and knowledge production.
