Personal profile

Biography

I specialize in advanced modeling, data visualization, and the assessment of human and environmental vulnerabilities to climate and hydrological extremes. With expertise spanning hydrological and climate modeling, big data analytics, artificial intelligence, remote sensing, and geographic information systems, I work to address complex environmental challenges and support the development of sustainable climate solutions.

My research focuses on deepening understanding of hydrometeorological processes and their implications for human health, mitigating the impacts of extreme climate events on communities and ecosystems, and designing innovative approaches to manage compound hydroclimate extremes. I am passionate about applying cutting‑edge analytical tools and interdisciplinary methods to drive scientific innovation. Ultimately, my goal is to generate actionable insights that strengthen resilience and sustainability in a rapidly changing climate.

My contributions have been recognized through numerous prestigious awards. In 2023, the American Geophysical Union honored me as an Outstanding Reviewer for Earth’s Future. I received the Best Poster Award in 2024 and the Best Project Presentation Award at the School on Climate and Environmental Modelling in 2019. My academic excellence is further reflected in consecutive Outstanding Academic Performance Awards from the City University of Hong Kong (2023, 2024).

I have also been supported by several competitive international fellowships, including the DAAD Fellowship in Germany (2020–2022), the German Federal Ministry of Education Fellowship (2016–2019), the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology Fellowship (2018–2019), the Netherlands Fellowship Program (2017), the Committee on Space Research Capacity Building Fellowship (2018), and the International Centre for Theoretical Physics Fellowships in Italy (2015, 2019).
