Biography

Dr Yuxuan Zhang is a Research Fellow at the ANU School of Engineering. His research focuses on carbon capture and storage, thermal energy systems, and gas hydrate technologies, with applications in decarbonisation, cold-chain logistics, and sustainable energy. Dr Zhang received his PhD from ANU in 2025, following a joint Master’s degree in Sustainable Energy from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and a dual Bachelor’s degree in Renewable Energy Engineering and Economics from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He is the winner of the ANU Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition, receiving both First Place and People’s Choice Award at the 2024 CECC Finals, and the People’s Choice Award at the ANU Grand Final.
