Biography
Doctor Ryan Turner is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the ANU Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics (RSAA). He obtained his MSc at Perth, his PhD at Swinburne, and has previously held a research position at Swinburne from 2023 to 2025. His research uses the motions of nearby galaxies to understand how gravity influences the evolution of large-scale structure and to measure cosmological parameters. He is also interested in using gravitational waves to measure the expansion rate of the universe. Dr Turner is also a member of the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument collaboration, the 4MOST Hemisphere Survey collaboration, and the ARC Centre of Excellence for Gravitational Wave Research.
