Personal profile

Biography

I am a biogeochemist whose research spans microbiology, cell physiology, and the cycling of elements through the environment. I am interested in how trace elements shape biological processes, especially phytoplankton physiology and ecology, and how these processes in turn influence the movement of elements through ecosystems. My work combines experimental and observational approaches to understand the links between cellular metabolism and large-scale biogeochemical patterns, with a focus on the role of micronutrients in connecting life and chemistry across different scales.
