Biography
Susanna is a professor at the Australian National University. She completed her PhD in the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2004. Her doctoral dissertation examines how web personalization influences the behavior of online users and her research portfolio reflects a continuing interest in this area. She started her academic career in the University of Melbourne in 2004 as a lecturer. In 2008, Susanna joined the Australian National University as an associate professor. In 2013, she was promoted to a full professor.
Susanna's publications have appeared in MIS Quarterly (FT45, ABDC A*), Information Systems Research (FT45, ABDC A*), Journal of the Association for Information Systems (ABDC A*), Information Systems Journal (ABCD A*), European Journal of Operational Research (ABCD A*), Decision Support Systems (ABDC A*), Information and Management (ABDC A*), and Journal of Business Ethics (FT45), and many others.
Susanna is a senior editor for MIS Quarterly (2021–present), AIS Transactions of HCI (2012–present). She is currently a co-editor for two special issues – Fake News and Deception for AIS Transactions of HCI, and Next Generation of IS Theories for Journal of Information Technology. She was a guest senior editor for Journal for Association of Information Systems (2018–2020), an associate editor for MIS Quarterly (2013–2014, 2017–2020) and the Electronic Commerce Research and Applications (2008–2017), and on the editorial board for Journal of Associations for Information Systems and Communications of Associations for Information Systems (2014–2020). She often serves as a mentor for doctoral consortia held in conferences, and chairs research tracks in conferences including ICIS and PACIS.
Susanna received Vice-Chancellor’s Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning in 2020. She received the MIS Quarterly Outstanding Associate Editor award in 2018. She received the Information Systems Research Best Reviewer Award in 2010.
Susanna's research focuses on the area of judgment and decision making, big data and data analytics, management turnovers and internal control material weaknesses, social media and corporate social responsibility.
