Biography

Suzanne has a background in community development, working in both the private and public domains. She has extensive experience as the executive director of a national disability organisation and, during this time, sat on numerous national and state committees where her input to research on social participation was integral in delivering key reports. In 2016, she completed qualitative research on students’ lived experiences with dyslexia in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) education system. Suzanne currently is based in the ANU School of Medicine and Psychology in the the Indigenous Health Unit.  Previous to this she worked in the College of Health and Medicine as the Manager of HealthANSWERS, a translational research partnership covering the ACT and south-east New South Wales, and as a research officer at the ANU Medical School’s Rural Clinical School with research projects that included rural recruitment and retention, intern experiences in rural locations, GP-VMOs in rural locations and medical education.
