Biography

Dr Uday Narayan Yadav is a Chronic Disease Implementation Scientist at Yardhura Walani (National Centre for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Wellbeing Research). He has implemented various public health programs and conducted research in Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, and Australia focusing Indigenous and other disadvantage population. He has worked with various development partners (e.g.,USAID, UNAIDs, IOM, etc.), government bodies, and non-governmental organisations.

Dr Yadav research interests include:

  • Prevention and management of chronic disease via community and primary care approaches
  • Co-design and Implementation science
  • Addressing health inequality, including interventions to improve the health and wellbeing of Indigenous and other marginalised population, and
  • Evidence based policy, advocacy and practice.

Dr Yadav's contribution to global health is well recognised and is the recipient of two esteemed awards, the 2021 David L. Sackett Fellowship from the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, University of Oxford, UK, and the 2021 National Health Research Award from the Government of Nepal. Dr Yadav was awarded an NHMRC Emerging Leader Fellowship (2025 - 2029).
