Biography

Dr. Xianming Zhou received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Toronto. He joined ANU in September 2014 after teaching at the University of Sydney, the City University of Hong Kong, and the University of Hong Kong.

Dr. Zhou's research interest is in corporate finance, managerial incentives, and capital market. The modern corporation is characterized by the separation of ownership and control, and not surprisingly, many hotly debated issues in the finance literature root in the agency relationship between shareholders and managers in publicly held companies. Xianming's recent research involves applications of agency theory to corporate governance issues and related empirical tests using executive compensation and firm performance data.
