Project Details
Description
This project will evaluate and compare gambling regulation across the Australian federal system. Empirical research will test regulation theories in the context of gaming regulation and compliance. It will adopt a broad conception of regulation to compare not only the activities and outcomes of state/territory regulatory authorities, but also self-regulatory activity by gambling providers and input by non-government organisations. Interactions, potentials and limits of these three forms of regulatory agent will be studied to identify regulatory successes and failures. National regulation benchmarks and replicable examples of constructive collaboration that achieve cooperative compliance without enforcement action will be identified.
