Project Details
Description
Australasia faces major environmental, economic, and social challenges associated with climate change, human impacts on the environment, natural hazards, and the discovery of mineral deposits. Stable-isotope geochemistry addresses key questions in the geosciences, yet research programs designed to comprehensively characterise how the planet works are at a crossroad due to technical limitations in Australia. The new high performance stable-isotope facility will be a unique, versatile national resource designed to facilitate targeted collaborative research and cutting-edge microanalytical developments. The facility will ensure Australia has forefront technical capacity to understand and forecast phenomena impacting Australasian societies.
