    Project Details

    Description

Noble gas elemental and isotopic variations provide critical temporal and geochemical information on the geological, environmental, biological, and climatic evolution of the Earth and solar system. We propose to establish a state-of-art facility for complementary noble gas geochemical and chronological research through the purchase of two new generation multi-collector noble gas mass spectrometers. The new facility will significantly enhance and expand current high profile research activities in the fields of climate change, landscape evolution, mass extinction causation, hominid evolution, crust/mantle geodynamics and predictive mineral discovery.
