A Quantum Control Toolbox for Two-Dimensional Quantum Turbulence

    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

This project will develop a new tool for exploring turbulence. Turbulence controls the efficiency of aircraft and industrial processes using fluid flow. It is responsible for the transport of heat and pollutants in the atmosphere and our oceans. It poses challenges in predicting weather patterns and optimising pharmaceutical manufacturing processes. Enhanced understanding of turbulence can lead to more accurate atmospheric and oceanic models, improving disaster preparedness and climate predictions. In the pharmaceutical sector, this research can refine liquid mixing and chemical reactions, contributing to more effective medications. This project explores methods of controlling quantum superfluids. This will simplify our understanding of turbulence by isolating different processes that are normally hard to control. Controlling these systems will also advance various quantum sensing tech
