Project Details
Description
The aim of this project is to develop a low-cost, ultra-sensitive, non-invasive tool for measuring blood-based biomarkers of Alzheimers disease. This would facilitate early-stage detection and monitoring, enabling early intervention and improved clinical outcomes. The anticipated deliverable is a small-footprint, easy-to-use point-of-care device that could significantly lower healthcare costs while improving access to timely diagnosis, particularly benefiting rural, remote, and Indigenous communities across Australia. Currently, the project is at TRL 3, where the underlying sensing principles have been validated in a laboratory setting, with an anticipated progression to TRL 4 within the scope of the AEA Ignite project.
