    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

This proposal seeks support for a facility that will provide both femtosecond and nanosecond intense light pulses over a broad spectral range. The tunable fs and ns laser equipment will be interfaced with electrochemistry equipment. This will permit examination of new molecular materials across a range of oxidation states in a facility that is unique world-wide. The facility will support a diverse array of world-leading research at the participating organizations (e.g. assessing new optical materials for a range of technologically important applications, and the redox structure and function of biologically-sourced and biomimetic catalysts critical to renewable energy research) and will ensure that Australia's world leadership is maintained.
