    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

ACCELERATE Plus aims to evaluate and implement the effectiveness of an organisational ward-level intervention to facilitate comprehensive, systematic patient assessment by nurses and improved clinical handover. We hypothesise that ACCELERATE Plus will:1.Reduce clinical deterioration, falls with injury, and stages 2-4 pressure injuries.2.Improve patient reported (PREMs) perceptions of safety and hospital experience.3.Improve nurse and medical perceptions of interprofessional collaboration.4.Improve nurse perceptions of: (i) organisational readiness to change; (ii) barriers to physical assessment; (iii) staff engagement; and (iv) safety culture.5.Demonstrate economic value (versus usual care) using a cost-benefit analysis. An a priori process evaluation will identify contextual and individual factors influencing uptake to inform strategies for future upscale and spread.
