Description
High-grade metamorphic processes provide record of the formation and evolution of the continental crust, from which we can understand the part of the Earth that we live on and better manage the resources we need. We propose an interdisciplinary approach to study such processes incorporating metamorphic petrology, trace element geochemistry, geochronology and experimental petrology. We will investigate the relationship between accessory phases and the trace element contents of major phases and melts, and develop new and innovative tools for monitoring partial melting and high-grade metamorphic processes. The results of this project will participate in a new picture of a dynamic Earth.
