    Project Details

    Description

This project will exploit advances in high-performance heterogeneous computing to lay the foundations for faster and more reliable medical image analysis including registration, modelling/simulation and segmentation. The outcomes of this project will transform the role of technology in future health care systems by providing lowcost ubiquitous automated/semi-automated diagnosis, planning, and visualization solutions and by introducing real-time and enhanced intraoperative tools for non-invasive image-guided surgery. By achieving the specificgoals of this project, we will also contribute to general understanding of the trade-offs and challenges in transitioning from traditional serial computation into the new era of parallel platforms.
