Project Details
Description
This project will involve on-going, international collaborative research over two years, culminating in three core activities: two two-day Research Workshops and a one-day Policy Roundtable. These will bring together leading scholars and practitioners working in international security, strategic and defence studies, and machine intelligence to produce a comprehensive study and set of policy recommendations on the risks and opportunities of introducing AI, machine learning, and automated systems into state-level use-of-force decision making. In addition to published outputs, these activities will be supplemented by lecture and seminar series, which will disseminate research findings and provide capacity building opportunities for Defence.
