An open source approach to understanding an important parasite ion pump

This research will provide the first molecular picture to explain the mechanism of action of the most promising antimalarials in the development pipeline. The Partner Organisation aims to ensure that the development of new medicines to treat malaria is coordinated strategically, with the best understanding of the underlying science. The knowledge derived from this project will impact future directions of research against a parasite responsible for the deaths of around 2000 people every day.
