Analysis of monitoring data collected from 2017-2027 and establishment of refined conservation targets for the endangered southern bell frog (Ranoidea raniformis)

Southern bell frog (Ranoidea raniformis syn. Litoria raniformis) is a large hylid occurring in wetlands of the southern Murray Darling Basin. Listed as Endangered under the NSW Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016, the species is the focus of a targeted conservation project funded by the NSW Government’s Saving our Species (SoS) program, which aims to secure threatened species in the wild for the next 100 years. NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (NSW DCCEEW) staff have delivered targeted environmental watering of wetlands to promote southern bell frog breeding and monitored these sites since 2017. We are engaging a contractor to complete a global review of data collected to date, to inform updates to conservation targets and objectives for the species
