Analysis of silicon solar cell performance

    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

The aim of the project is to provide a detailed efficiency loss analysis of the TOPCon solar cells made from Sany Silicon Energy, China (abbreviated as Sany in the rest of this document). This will help to identify the main loss channels in the cells, thus enabling improvement strategies to be developed for Sany. Quokka simulation will be used for the detailed cell loss analysis at ANU. In consultation with ANU, Sany will provide the test structures required to assess and characterise the performance of individual cell components (e.g. surface, bulk, metal contact etc). ANU will carry out the characterisation tasks, perform Quokka simulation, analyse the results, and present the main findings and suggestions in a final report
