ANU Hansen Scandinavian Friendship Research Grant 2023

    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

ANU Hansen Scandinavian Friendship Research Grant 2023 application - The project is significant both academically and in terms of the potential to create a clearer normative and legal framework around rights to group autonomy. This framework is critical to avoid lingering instability in countries with groups seeking various measures of constitutionally recognised sovereignty. Countries where such issues arise include nearly all of the Scandinavian states where for example Greenlandic Inuit people have forcefully sought independence, while Sami people have pushed for greater internal autonomy.
