Applying needs-based workforce planning in primary care

MRFF 2023 Primary Health Care Research - 2032003 - UQ-led CIA Nissen -- Our project will have a significant impact on the discourse of health workforce planning. Rather than planning based on current service delivery, our starting point is the need of the population. Such an approach is not new, but it has not, to date, been adopted in Australia. We will undertake fundamental research to understand the optimal health workforce mix, incorporating the preferences of consumers and healthcare providers and identifying better ways to incentivise team care.
