    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

The objective of this research is to inform the design of incentive mechanisms for ‘avoided deforestation’, under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), which could be adopted by the international protocol that will follow the Kyoto Protocol in 2012. This research addresses the following two research questions: 1)What have been the impacts on livelihoods of existing payments for environmental services schemes? 2)What are the implications for the design of incentive mechanisms for ‘avoided deforestation’?
